A security flaw has been found in the Linux Kernel, the core system software that runs the servers powering your hosted websites. The issue is an out-of-bounds memory write vulnerability, which lets a program write data to parts of the server’s memory it is not authorized to access.
If this flaw is exploited by a local user (someone who already has limited access to the server), it could either give that user full administrative control of the entire system, or cause the server to crash, leading to downtime for your website and any services you host.
